Internet Explorer supports a CSS mechanism called filters. While purists don't like the idea of using proprietary contributions to the CSS lexicon, you might appreciate being able to make your own decision based on the needs of your audience... that said, there are no guarantees when you use non-standard anything.
If you are viewing this in a browser that doesn't support fliph and flipv then you'll simply see 4 similar graphics. Otherwise, you'll see what appears to be 4 different corners (just 1 graphic flipped 4 different ways).
